Meet Our Team
No matter what role you play there is always time to take care of you!
Hello everyone! I’m a dedicated healthcare professional with 17 years of nursing experience, specializing in emergency, intensive care, and aesthetic medicine. I’m also a proud Family Nurse Practitioner committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care. I pride myself on education. I have traveled coast to coast to expand my knowledge, focusing on enhancing and celebrating natural beauty. It’s all about helping others feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.
Alongside my fulfilling career in healthcare, my biggest love is to my four amazing high schoolers. When they were younger I was blessed with three bonus sons when I met my husband Doug. He retired from the Army and helped me build this dream. Our family life is a whirlwind of activities and adventures. From volleyball, soccer, golf, orchestra, band, the list goes on and on. My furry companions- corgis and labs- round out our lively household.
In my rare free moments, I find myself doing home projects, baking, and have an infatuation with my salt water fish. When I was in college my love for the ocean appeared when I volunteered in the Australia at working to rehabilitate the wildlife. You will see the salt water fish in the spa in Olathe. The ocean has a piece of my heart but the midwest will always be home to me. I was raised in small town Nebraska where my dad was a game warden and my mother was a nurse. So I find peace in relaxing on my back porch, savoring the tranquility and observing the wildlife that passes by. It is the perfect way to unwind and recharge.
Let me take care of you.

About Josh
Where to start… I feel like my life has been a constant change of experiences. When I was in high school and early college I wanted to be a SWAT team member. I trained as well as taught martial arts for years after obtaining my black belt. I took rappelling courses and specialized training for police duties. After signing on as a reserve police officer I quickly realized this was not for me. Somehow a friend of mine, Ryan, altered the course of my life. He somehow talked me into nursing school. At the time I was working at a grocery store and playing poker to try and help my mom make ends meet. Eventually, I flunked out of nursing school at Garden City Community College. I knew I had to do something with my life so I moved to Emporia Kansas to give school another shot. I joined the nursing program at Emporia State University.
Oddly enough in my off time from school I couldn’t find a regular poker game. I had to be doing something all the time. One day, I saw David Blane performing a street magic special on tv. I recorded that special with my VCR (low key dating myself). I saw some of the magic tricks he did and watched them in slow motion until I figured out how to do them. The study of magic became this weird thing I had to do. So, while in nursing school magic became something I did for my patients in the hospital. That grew into me performing for churches, weddings, events in the community, and a specific doctor would have me round with him while he did procedures to patients. Once I had essentially mastered the amount of magic I could handle I became bored with it.It was time to start something else.
I started teaching myself guitar to destress during school. After a year of playing I realized the calluses on my fingers were making it difficult to feel for an IV. One of my goals during nursing was to be clinically sound. I wanted to be the guy everyone went to when they had an issue with IVs. I had to put the guitar away for that time being. That’s when I found the Rubik’s cube. I remember watching "The Pursuit of Happiness" featuring Will Smith. If Will Smith can do a Rubik's Cube surely I can right? I found a fantastic tutorial on YouTube from a guy named Dan Brown. Practiced for months and now I can solve a cube in minutes.
On top of the black belt, magic, guitar, Rubik’s cube… I met an amazing deaf couple in the hospital. They had been in a car accident and the husband had broken both of the long bones in his legs. Meeting the wife and the interpreter changed the direction of my life again. I immediately signed up for sign language that following semester. I loved learning to sign with the couple at work as they were going to be there for a long time. I went to several deaf pot luck dinners at the local church with the patient's wife. Amazing people. I loved the experience. Oddly, my college roommate and I thought it would be funny to put our profiles up on a website called hotornot.com so we could see who got rated higher. Seeing my profile, a girl reached out to me to have lunch with her and her deaf roommates so we could practice ASL (American Sign Language). Through a set of events I started playing softball on the all deaf team and met a deaf girl I dated for several years. I absolutely love the deaf community.
Fast forward a couple years and I found myself in the Emergency Department at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. This is where I met Rebecca for the first time. She and I used to race each other to see who could treat our patients the fastest. We just seemed to work well together. She and I eventually moved into different roles. I went into a leadership role of Critical Care Float Nurse, PICCline Nurse, Patient Care Supervisor, and IV Educator. I was essentially one of the go to guys for everything. For many years I was the guy people reached out to when an IV was “impossible.”
Moving into these new roles put me into a position where I walked the hospital daily. In my travels I noticed that the chapel had a grand piano. Of course I had to start messing around on it. To this day I love stopping at any piano I see to play. Piano is now on top of my many other hobbies. I love woodworking and have a small woodworking shop in my garage. I love to workout and if you have seen my instagram page you may see my home gym. I’m also very much into shooting sports and traveling with my girlfriend Irene.
But Josh, how did you ever get into a medical spa!? Rebecca asked me to come check out her spa after she had opened. After coming down to see the place I was blown away with what she had done. She then said, “try Botox it’s amazing!” To which I laughed and said, “you’re crazy!” Let’s be clear. I have always thought Aesthetics was a bunch of “hogwash” and I openly admit that. But after Rebecca somehow convinced me to sit in her chair and trust her with multiple needles in my face that can paralyze muscles…..looking back that sounds crazy. But it is AMAZING!! First of all, my forehead sweats a lot. My skin is naturally oily. When I have tox I don’t sweat as much! (Which is something tox can be used for) I didn’t realize that. And seeing people's before and after progress in pictures has me hooked. Aesthetics is turning into another thing for me to dive into and master.
I hope that I can bring that same feeling that I had with my first experience to all of my clients.
