Preparation & Aftercare Guide

      1 Week Before: • Discontinue retinoids, tretinoin, AHA/BHA products, benzoyl peroxide, and exfoliants. • Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including tanning beds). • Stop waxing or using depilatory creams on the area to be treated. • Let us know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have had cold sores — an antiviral may be recommended. 3 Days Before: • Avoid facial treatments like lasers, microneedling, or intense exfoliation. • Stay hydrated and keep your skin moisturized. Day Of: • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. • Avoid shaving the treatment area the day of your peel. • Wear comfortable clothes that won’t rub against the treated area (especially for neck/chest peels).

      • Your provider will thoroughly cleanse your skin before applying the peel solution. • You may feel mild tingling, warmth, or stinging, which typically lasts a few minutes. • Your provider will go over post peel instructions once the peel has been applied.

      Day 1–3: • Skin may feel tight, dry, or appear slightly red or sensitive. • Peeling or flaking may begin around Day 3 (varies by peel type). Day 3–7: • Do NOT pick, pull, or scrub flaking skin — let it shed naturally to avoid damage. • Use only gentle cleanser, hydrating serums, and a soothing moisturizer. • Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, even if you’re indoors. Avoid For 7–10 Days: • Sun exposure, heat, sweat, and strenuous exercise. • Makeup (until flaking subsides), exfoliating products, and active ingredients like retinol or acids. Results: • Skin will appear brighter, clearer, and smoother within 7–10 days, with ongoing improvement over time. • For deeper skin concerns (like melasma or acne scarring), a series of 3–6 peels may be recommended.

What can chemical peels treat?

Will my skin actually peel?
Not always. Peeling depends on the strength of the peel and your skin. Some clients flake heavily, others have no visible peeling — both are normal.
Does it hurt?
You may feel a mild stinging or tingling during the treatment, but it’s usually very tolerable.
How long is the downtime?
You will experience 7-9 days of downtime after a chemical peel.
How often can I get a chemical peel?
Depending on your skin and goals, peels can be done every 4–6 weeks.
